Meine Biografie:

Born in Australia, Kate Martin is a freelance curator and arts educator based in Berlin. Kate has ten years’ experience as a freelance curator managing a variety of projects including exhibitions, events, research and collection cataloguing, and has been working as an arts educator since 2009. Kate began her career in Melbourne working with local communities on various self-initiated arts projects dealing with youth issues, mental health and environmental sustainability, while working as an assistant for organisations such as Fortyfivedownstairs, The Cunningham Dax Collection, and Benalla Art Gallery. During her time in Scotland (2008-12) Kate worked on various arts projects for organisations such as Macmillan Cancer Support, The Office (Berlin), the Visual Artist and Galleries Association, The Gallery of Modern Art (Glasgow), and in various educational roles for the Fruitmarket Gallery, National Galleries of Scotland, Strathclyde University and Edinburgh City Council. In 2009, Kate established Contemporary Art Exchange – a platform producing international projects, exhibitions and events that promote creative professional development opportunities for young and early career artists. As director of Contemporary Art Exchange, she works across geographic borders, often in collaboration with artists, educators, other curators, and with local communities and minority groups, such as young people and people with disabilities on a variety of curated projects, exhibitions, workshops and events. After relocating in late 2012 Kate now runs Contemporary Art Exchange from her base in Berlin.
